IoT-Based Smart Wearable Band for Elderly Fall Detection and Emergency Alert System
Collaborated in a 4-member team to design a low-cost wearable system for real-time fall detection and emergency alerting, integrating accelerometer, gyroscope, heart-rate, and GPS sensors with an ESP32 microcontroller. Designed fall-detection logic combining motion-pattern analysis with physiological verification (heart rate) to reduce false alarms before triggering an alert. Built a user-confirmation flow ("Are you okay?") that auto-sends an emergency alert with live GPS location to a caregiver if no response is received in time.
